In the heart of every SEO champion lies a threshold of pain. Some will rise, some will fall.
A few days prior to January 12, 2011 an email circulated the office from David Malmborg stating that the wife of one of the SEO’s at SEO.com (Preston Van Dyke) would come by the office for a little “man-scaping” for any of us men who wanted to have our schnozes irrigated of those pesky nose hairs during our lunch break.
Oddly enough there was an excellent turn out, not only for the waxing itself, but for the watching of the event. The laughter was infectious as we watched some of our co-workers eyes water with that little shock of pain. We even had a couple ladies join in the festivities or I would have titled this video something to do with man-scaping.
Anyway, some of us who did this thought it hurt, while others found it to feel no different than their finger in their nose digging for gold. (okay I made that up for the gross out factor)
I must say, it really did not hurt me… the actual waxing of the nose part that is. What did hurt however was the wax that got stuck in my mustache. Getting that out of my upper lip was very painful… I had it in there for a few hours, continually picking at it until it was eventually gone. So word to the wise men… if you are getting your nose hairs waxed, be sure to lose the mustache first.
The best part of the day was that I won the contest! Well there was no actual contest… but if there was I would have won. I had the most hairs on my green wax tipped popsicle stick! Now before you go and say “gross” let’s just be happy I won something. I do have my trophy popsicle stick at my desk should anyone want to see this thing of beauty! OK that is gross! Not as gross as people who keep their finger nails and toe nails in a jar! (you know who you are)
Anyway… this was a hoot! How many people can say they had a nose hair waxing event at work? Well you know what… maybe you can too.
If you are looking for any kind of body waxing or how about a great Utah hair stylist… look no further than Tiana Van Dyke! And if you did not already guess, Tiana is the person in the video that was the person pulling green wax tipped popsicle sticks out of all our noses in this video.
Next up… we are hoping to have Tiana back for some group haircuts! Unless Tiana shaves someone bald (on accident of course) a video would not be as funny as this one… so I may not make a video for that. But what if it was not an accident…?
To be continued…
Until next time…

I laughed, I cried, I was moved. It was everything I could’ve wanted out of a YouTube video.
Four Stars.
Two Thumbs up.
Hahaha… Thanks Dan!
Just watching the video made my body tense up with pain, over and over. I’ve had the nose hair waxing done before…and it really doesn’t hurt. But watching hurts. Seriously.
I wish I would have been there! Once everyone’s nose hair comes back in I need to be invited again. Until then, I’ll stick with my mundane trimming.
Right on Nelson!
It is quite the exhilarating feeling indeed… better than picking out the long ones one at a time. But I must say, getting used to the inner nose baldness took a couple of days.
Thanks for the comment!
